Stop treating Brett Favre like Jesus

Do you know what would be really funny? If Brett Favre went blind.

I’m sick of Packers fans and their worship of Favre. He won a Super Bowl, but so did Trent Dilfer and they wouldn’t interrupt regularly scheduled programming in Baltamore to announce his return.

Favre also has incredible stats, but so does Barry Bonds. And Bonds isn’t the only one with character flaws. My image of a tough, intimidating football player does not include a crybaby who weeps after an 8-8 season. Bonds probably took substances to relieve pain thereby speeding up his recovery time between workouts which made him stronger and more durable. Because of this, the media labels him a cheater and villain. Favre took substances to relieve pain so he could continue playing at a high level and keep his consecutive games started streak alive. When this came out, the media labeled Favre a victim of addiction, not a villain who should have an asterisk next to his records.

Why does Favre always get the positive light shined on him? Maybe it’s because he’s a good old boy—a blue-collar, down to earth farmer without a superstar ego. I suppose if I described him as an idiotic country hick who won an MVP before he mastered the art of buttoning up his shirt, then I’d be in the wrong…unless Favre played his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons, then Packers fans would agree with me.

The more I think about it, I don’t really hate Favre; I hate Packers fans. They are the ones who have an orgasm every time Favre’s name comes up. They are the ones who get Favre’s face tattooed on their chests. They are the ones who sacrifice their family pets in the name of Brett Favre.

Favre could convince his gullible, inept fans to do anything. Favre should rethink how he raises money for charity. Holding a stupid golf tournament can only do so much. I bet if he put his sweat from after a game in vials and sold them on Ebay that he would raise enough money to cure cancer, AIDS and still have enough left over to buy Mark Chmura an underage prostitute.

I don't wish Favre ill. But I do think Packer fans are way over the top in their Favre worship as you state. And it's not just Packer fans. The media, especially the football networks, also want to canonize Favre while he is still breathing. (Continued…)

Nice 16 year old rant!! Stumbled upon this little cry for attention and I wish I hadn't. I've never even been a huge Favre fan but comparing him to Dilfer? Maybe you should stick to Arena Football!!

Sounds like some one is jealous of a great QB. Comparing Bonds and Favre is crazy, Favre's medication was prescribed and yes he became addicted, but unlike Bonds, Favre announced he had an addiction and took care of it. (Continued…)
